With millions views on the app, this viral beauty hack involves mixing two hero serums from cult budget beauty brand The Ordinary, in order to, allegedly, produce similar results that you’d get from anti-wrinkle injections, such as Azzalure®, Bocouture®, Botox®, Dysport®, and Xeomin®.

To try this trick, Social Media claims that all you need to do is combine the argireline solution 10% and matrixyl 10% and apply the mixture, daily.

Beauty Influencer Sarah Palmyra says the mixture of solutions softened the creases between her eyebrows, after using it every day for a month. ‘Let’s address the elephant in the room, have I gotten Botox? No!’, says Palmyra in her video.

She goes on to explain why her face looks noticeably smoother, detailing how she blends the two serums for an anti-aging effect.

‘Acetyl hexapeptide-3 (the ingredient in the argireline serum) is a type of peptide that targets the neuromuscular connections to relax the muscles in your face. This is the first peptide of its kind to actually target dynamic wrinkles and prevent them from happening.’

But, as with most TikTok trends, does it sound a little too good to be true? I reached out to aesthetic doctor and founder of the Illuminate Skin Clinic, Dr. Sophie Shotter, to get her take on the trend.
